I had two auditions this week! A good sign, as this tends to be a very slow season in the industry.
"But these are the realities of the artistic idealism and the stock, the commercial/financial realism, and, so, somehow sometimes it is going to work in your favor and sometimes against, and that's all part and parcel of it. We just, in our end, just carry on trying to sort of produce the work, or the best work we can do, and hope that at their end they find a way of getting that to as many people as possible in the cinema medium."

Sorry I'm so late posting again! Long story short, I had problems with my eyes that are being fixed now.
"Challenges make you discover things about yourself that you never really knew. They're what make the instrument stretch -- what make you go beyond the norm." - Cicely Tyson
Sorry for last week's radio silence! Things have been a little nutty here, with two weeks of repeat emergency room visits for Tim, followed by an emergency surgery on his spine on Wednesday. We've got a long road of recovery ahead, but all is rather well, and we're at a solid starting-off point for healing!
"I'm a character actress, plain and simple...Who can worry about a career? Have a life. Movie stars have careers - actors work, and then they don't work, and then they work again." - Frances McDormand
My birthday was pretty relaxing (I'll take it!), and now I'm getting ready for another audition. Can't wait to see where this one goes!
"I don't think I'm even close to fulfilling my potential. And I think also that, unlike a pianist or a flutist, an actor has an instrument that is constantly changing." - Kerry Washington
I just remembered that I hadn't done my blog yet. Talk about barely getting it out in time!
Fun news is that I had a fabulous voiceover audition this week. I have a very good feeling about it!
"You have to grab life by the throat and squeeze before it grabs you by your neck and breaks it. Own your destiny." - Sylvester Stallone
Who has another audition? I do!
Also getting pumped for this week's class. I've learned so much already, and it's only been three weeks since the start!
"I am where I am because I believe in all possibilities." - Whoopi Goldberg
I'm really enjoying a new class I started taking. It's making me appreciate the training I've done before even more, as it shows how you ( or the proverbial "you," if you will) use a little of everything you've learned to create a character. It gives you so much more guidance and choice, which is a very good thing!
"The only thing that I am trying to do is to find stories that I like, stories that are meaningful and that can connect and question, since I am not 18 years old anymore." - Alfonso Herrara
I have another audition, and I'm really excited about it! Well, I get excited about all of them, but I'm REALLY excited this one.
"I'm drawn to emotionally damaged characters because there is more to unlock." - Helena Bonham Carter
I had a fun audition and am now getting ready for another one for later this week. Great things ahead!
"When you're on stage, you gotta do it. People pay to see you, and they deserve to be entertained and you should go out there and really give it your best shot. And that's quite a challenge. You have a new audience for every show. Even though you do the same thing all the time, you gotta keep it fresh for yourself and you gotta keep it good and interesting and something you want to do. I'm anxious to have a really terrific act. Whatever it takes it takes." - Cass Elliot
I had a callback for an audition I'd done a few weeks ago. Callbacks are always good, but the funny thing is that it was for a different character than I'd auditioned for. I'll take it!
"Careers very rarely are a waste of time; jobs usually are." - Donald Glover
