Tim and I had a good week. We:
1) Spent time with our families
2) Learned how to play shuffleboard
3) Learned how to play bocce ball (Tim already knew how to play, but he got to practice)
4) Played an insane amount of card games
5) Enjoyed better weather than NYC's at the moment (I love you so, NYC, but this Winter has to go. Hurry up, Spring.)
It of course went by way too fast, but doesn't it always? We're getting back into the swing of things, though. Time to get some more auditions.
"Time is an amazing equalizer. I think if you stay true to yourself and keep moving forward, things come around." - Demi Moore
Was this a good week? I'd say so. I had two auditions this week, and now Tim and I get to see our family (or families, if you prefer). Wanna know something else fun? Tim had his first audition for HBO yesterday!
Like I've said so many times before, we're getting there step by step.
"Most actors try to do as many different things as possible. I like the encouragement I get from doing new things. I like to feel scared or challenged in the hope that I can pull it off. That little bit of fear creates an energy that I can channel into the performance. And you have to keep tapping new parts of yourself, keep working or you never improve. The only way to improve is to set yourself harder goals." - Joanne Whalley
It was a strange multiple audition week, but I think it ended on a reasonably high note (that was a pretty good audition, actually). You can't win them all, but that doesn't make me want to any less.
I also got offered a role in an Indian film! Tim and I've been talking about going for a while, so it's a fantastic opportunity, but we'd have to fly ourselves there, so we'll see. Running a film festival costs a lot of money, let alone three of them!
"I am a soldier. I live a soldier's life when I'm working. That's how it feels to me, except I've got a slightly greater chance of survival." - Tilda Swinton
I'm auditioning for three short films this week. I'd say that makes for a good week. I can't wait until acting pays the bills, but I'm enjoying the journey! For now, patience...
"Getting ahead in a difficult profession requires avid faith in yourself. That is why some people with mediocre talent, but with great inner drive, go so much further than people with vastly superior talent." - Sophia Loren
We're happy to be home in NYC after LA, but also happy to see that we can work in LA, too. Now figuring-out how to be officially bi-coastal and having places to live both here and there.
"Ask the right questions if you're to find the right answers." - Vanessa Redgrave
