Still shooting the feature film, and Tim and I both have auditions coming up! I'd go into more details, but I need to go to my cousin, Laurel's wedding.
Ah, the actor's life: Fabulous work, mediocre work, awful work, then everything else mixed in. "Actors are weird enough as it is." - John Cusack

It was a strange, diverse, but still very good week. Continued the film shoot, modeled a lot, learned a new way to handle finances, survival jobs, handling festival business, etc. How's that for a packed week?
Good news for Tim, too: He's going to take a theatre training course starting next week. He's been meaning to take acting classes, so I'm glad to see him doing so! Ok, back to the grind. Other than acting (hooray!), who knows what the next week will bring? "I had jobs. I sold men's suits and shoes and worked in stockrooms of department stores, and I cut tobacco when it was the season." - George Clooney Shot two scenes for a feature film today. As pretty much always, it was a blast! No surprise there, as the character I play is a hoot. She's very... difficult. It's fun to play roles like that, as I try not to be too terribly difficult on a day-to-day basis. Updates to come!
"I see The Usual Suspects as the time where I was, quote unquote, discovered. It took me six, seven years to get to that place. And it was not easy. You're fighting with people who doubt you and your choice of career. There are a lot of doubts - and you have to stay focused with what you want. I never put a time limit on me being successful or not. I just cared about the work as an actor. But it wasn't easy because there were a lot of ups and downs. I don't know if you know much about baseball, but baseball is the game of failure. You deal with failure - strike, strike, strike - all the time. Acting is like that. You have to have a very thick skin in a way - your hair is too dark, you're too ugly for the part, your audition wasn't good." - Benicio Del Toro It's been a crazy week. There's been a lot of bad (I'd go into it, but I don't want to), but I'm ending the week on a very good note. No room for negotiation on that one.
I have an audition coming up, and I'm working on expanding GEFF (Golden Egg Film Festival. You know, the film festival that Tim and I own). I feel like I'm building momentum. Oh, yes, and I'm shooting a movie starting Saturday. That already makes for a great week! "I am very driven. I work really hard, whether it's acting or my charity or even poker. When I focus on something I give it my all." - Shannon Elizabeth |
