I need to get myself back on my regular schedule. I've been trying to operate on a whole other schedule this week, and my brain feels like mush and operates as such (or doesn't, rather). Not a great thing when you have two businesses to run. Sigh... No whining, though, because great things to come soon!
"Sean Penn and Clint Eastwood have told me that I shouldn't feel that I need to be in the limelight or the spotlight all the time. A career is about longevity, as shown in their careers. So, I really want to only do the best things and work with the best people. That's what I strive to do." - Emmy Rossum I whole-heartedly agree, Emmy. We all have our time to shine in the spotlight, but it's what you do when the spotlight shines elsewhere that determines when it will come back to you.

Yep, I missed the boat this week. I told you I'd blog every Sunday, but it's Tuesday now. That means this post is 48 hours late (hello, math). I'll make it up to you, though. I promise. Just think - I'll blog again in only another 5 days. Moving on...
It hasn't been a terribly exciting week, but that's alright, due to the great things to come. I'm considering this a calm before the storm (a good storm, though, as in no death and destruction with all of that general nonsense and unpleasantness). Amazing things are ahead here. I'm not sure how far ahead yet, but I know they're not too far away. "'First, it's 'Who is Jake Gyllenhaal?,' then it's 'Get me Jake Gyllenhaal,' then 'Get me someone who looks like Jake Gyllenhaal,' and then 'Who is Jake Gyllenhaal?' Right now, I'm between 'Who is Jake Gyllenhaal?' and 'Get me Jake Gyllenhaal.'" - Jake Gyllenhaal on the stages of fame Of course, casting directors are not going to call me if they're looking for Jake Gyllenhaal. I am not Jake Gyllenhaal, nor do I look like him. They already know this, due to their access to headshots (including mine). I'm sure you know by now that I am not Jake Gyllenhaal, too. If you did not know this, I am terribly sorry to disappoint you. My name is Jolynn Carpenter. I am not Jake Gyllenhaal. Welcome to my blog. Anyway, right now, I'm still in the "Who is Jolynn Carpenter?" stage. At this point, it's about doing good work and being patient, even if it takes years to get to the "Get me Jolynn Carpenter" stage. Wow. I'm feeling euphoric today. I'm going to have a tea and do some yoga. Stop laughing. I'm serious. It's been an interesting week. A good week overall, yes, but interesting.
We're making some serious forward momentum on establishing the first international location of Golden Egg Film Festival. That's all I'm saying for now, but more details to come! I have an audition tomorrow, too! That always puts me in a great mood. I'll let you know the results of that when I have them, but keep your fingers crossed for me! "I love playing pompous asses. I think I would like that on my tombstone. 'He was the definitive pompous ass.'" -Bryan Cranston Agreed, Bryan. Pompous asses are some of my favorites to play, too. That, and crazy people in general. Goodnight! We've reached the end of the weekend, and I almost forgot to update! I'll have to stick with Sunday as blog day. Is Sunday good for everyone? Sunday? Ok, Sunday it is.
I had one audition this week, have another audition tomorrow, and am waiting for details for another audition coming up. What can I say? I've been busy this week! In this industry (the Entertainment Industry, in case you're still catching up), busy is always good. "Acting is like an addiction-once you start, you can't stop." - Liev Schreiber That's right, Liev. Oh! One more thing: I have some exciting things coming up outside of acting but still in Entertainment, too, but I can't update you cats on that...yet. Give it time. Just wait. Great things ahead. (Insert shit-eating grin here) Buenos noches! I've been practicing Spanish. More on that later. |
