An interesting week...
Ok, I can't go into details, but I was told this week that another team (or another business in the Entertainment industry, if you'd prefer to call it that) is creating a character for me! That's all I can say for now. I'll start sharing info when I can. For now, though, you will have to be patient. On that note: "I love a film where I get squished by two Dumpsters or I fly through the air." - Alan Cumming I suppose Dumpsters and flying can be fun, Alan. I'm personally waiting for a role that requires me to stealthily dangle from the ceiling by cables. To each their own.

I should do more situps. Just saying. Before that, though...
I've been requested to audition for a movie (as in I didn't ask them to audition me; they saw my work and want me to audition for them because of it). This makes me happy. I may or may not audition for them, as we have some negotiating to do first, but it's good to be requested. I must be doing something right. :-) I'm glad I'm being considered for another role, whether I choose to play it or not. I'm craving a character challenge. It's fun to create something new. Very therapeutic. More on that: "Change is vital to any actor. If you keep playing lead after lead, you're really gonna dry up. Because all those vehicles wean you away from the truths of human behaviour." - Gary Oldman Now about those situps... Did you know that wolf fish eat lobsters and crabs? Any critter (lol critter...) that can take getting pinched by lobster and crab claws repeatedly yet still continue to eat them has a certain level of badassery that I think deserves to be mentioned. Cheers to you, wolf fish.
I'm being considered for a film shooting in California sometime in the next few months. That's how the standard independent film schedule works: We're going to do this film, and once we get the money together for it/the script is written/we have the cast we'll shoot. No judgement for that, by any means. We're all trying to make it happen in our own ways. Speaking of: "If you take shortcuts, you get cut short." - Gary Busey では、後ほど! That's "Talk to you later!" in Japanese, or so Babelfish says. Anyway, later! I would say "Hot enough for ya?," but that'd be obnoxious. I would hit me if I were you. It's 94, and the air is almost liquid at this point. Of course it's hot.
I had an audition today! It's for a new TV show or web series (not sure which, but cameras are involved, so I'm THERE), and it was another self-recorded audition situation. It's still unusual for me, but I can get used to it. They needed me to create my own characters, which I'm also not used to. As an actor, you always need to create your own interpretation of a character based on the description you're given, but this was a "show us 2-3 original characters" request. Scary? No. Ok, a little, but I had fun with it. Improv is a blast, and this just kicked it up a lot of notches. Before I leave: "Follow your deepest dream, the one you had as a kid...but stay focused." - Donal Logue Well-said, Donal. I'm going to go focus on this portable fan right now and then focus on some lemonade. I know. I'm posting late. I screwed-up my neck. I mean really screwed it up. My doctor told me that my cervical vertebrae (that means "neck bones," for those of you not particularly versed in medical terminology) were so contorted that my brain stem was exposed. In other words, the circulation to my brain was compromised and the pain was EXCRUCIATING. Needless to say, I couldn't think straight. Poor Tim had to take care of me the whole time. Do you know what it's like to try to sleep next to someone who can't sleep because just laying there is unbearably painful? Tim does now. As always, he came to my rescue. All is good for both of us now, though. My neck is back in line. so I'm back in business, and Tim can finally get a good night's sleep.
I had a last-minute audition last night! It was for a play in the Fringe Festival. I'm getting ready for another audition for this weekend now, too. Getting closer to living the dream! ...and in closing: "I want people to re-evaluate me. My dream would be to make films like Clint Eastwood did... You have to be a self-starter out here at a certain point. It's important to take the reigns or, otherwise, you can be regaled to obscurity so quickly." - Bill Paxton You got that right, Bill. Here's to taking the reigns and making your own rules. Goodnight! |
