I have an audition this afternoon! Before that, though, a nap...
...in a bit. Anyway, it's a film audition. The character I'm auditioning for is rather eccentric. That works for me. I want a cat, but then I don't. They're very cute and lovable and all, but I have a feeling that any pet in our household would be a handful. It's an energy thing. We're rather high-strung. Ok, time for that nap. First, though: "I've learned that success comes in a very prickly package. Whether you choose to accept it or not is up to you. It's what you choose to do with it, the people you choose to surround yourself with. Always choose people that are better than you. Always choose people that challenge you and are smarter than you. Always be the student. Once you find yourself to be the teacher, you've lost it." - Sandra Bullock Thank you, Sandra. I'll keep that in mind.

I've been getting info for a lot of vampire roles. Do you think someone's trying to tell me something? I suppose it was only a matter of time until people started reaching out to me to play this type. I mean, look at my skin tone and my eyebrows. Hair and makeup would barely have to do anything.
I spend way too much time at my computer. My eyesight is garbage at this point. On that note, I'm going to go do something else. Before that, though: "The Oscar changed everything. Better salary, working with better people, better projects, more exposure, less privacy." - Kathy Bates So I hear, Kathy. I'll get there. All in good time... I had an audition today, then had a casting. Yes, they're two different things. Auditions are for actors. Castings are for modeling jobs. In other words, it was a productive day.
Tim sent me an interesting (and very accurate) article today: http://jezebel.com/stop-smiling-at-work-asap-cheerful-women-are-considere-512089058 I've experienced both examples of this on my own. There's a certain validation in reading this, as I see it's not just a "me" thing. I should really do some yoga. Really. It helps create a certain sense of balance. Anyway, in closing: "I don't pretend to be captain weird. I just do what I do." - Johnny Depp Right on, Johnny. So do I. I almost forgot to blog this week. I'm still in this post-festival vortex, plus getting back to the usual audition and workday schedule. Things are different now. This is definitely a game changer. I'll update you cupcakes on that as time passes. Promise. I have a blog, don't I?
You know the deal: "I can't stand this new culture of the instant disposable celebrity. It's all so vulgar." - Emma Thompson Agreed, Emma. I'm not for cheap, worthless celebrity myself. No Reality TV garbage for me. Period. Till next time, kiddos! |
