I got word from the stage manager of Who Mourns for Bob the Goon that we'll be starting rehearsals soon. I'm psyched!
On a social note, I got to hang out with two friends I hadn't seen in a while this week (one in months, the other in years). It must've been my week to reconnect! "I'm incredibly calculated when it comes to my career." - Eva Mendes

I got to spend the weekend shooting a fabulous short film! I'm so happy to have gotten to work with the talented team! You guys are of course at the top of my list to show it to once it's released, but here's a little time-lapse clip to show the fun to be had:
"I love actresses who are brave and don't do what's expected of them or don't play off how they look or take risks." - Kelly Reilly It was a wonderfully fabulous week! Not only did I get to act in the short play, Aphrodite's Notebook, I found out last night that I was cast in another short film (more details on the latter to come)! Definitely a great sign for what's to come.
"You give to the world your greatest gift when you're being yourself." - Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Happy Mothers' Day, everyone!
I'm getting ready to go to the first rehearsal for a reading I'm doing next week on May 12. Feel like being entertained by wonderfully witty people? You should come join the fun! I'll be in Aphrodite's Notebook, playing the namesake herself: https://www.facebook.com/events/1707232712872289/ "I am where I am because I believe in all possibilities." - Whoopi Goldberg Today is packed! I'm getting ready to go to an audition as I type this, then I'm participating in Meals for Monologues this afternoon (if you're an actor, you should sign up. If not, you can at least donate food), and I have a callback this evening!
For the characters I get to play today, the first two are both considerably unstable, and the third one is in a considerably unstable situation. I'm noticing a trend... "...you experience a lot more pain than normal people, your mom dies, your dad dies, your boyfriend chucks you, you live in the street, and you're really going through these emotions. You're trying to know what it feels like to watch a man die in front of you, as if you've really lived it. Once that division is gone, it gets blurry, you look back at a shoot and think, was I really that sad because in the film my boyfriend didn't like me -- or was it something else, something real?" - Maggie Cheung |
