A week of auditions, video editing, and photo shoots comes to a close. On a completely unrelated note, I have a sliver in my finger. I've been working on it, but this little bugger has dug deep. Definitely need to get rid of it, so I'll bring today's blog entry to a quick close. How about a couple of quotes, first?
"Look at the Coen Brothers. All their minor characters are as interesting as their protagonists. If the smaller characters are well-written, the whole world of the film becomes enriched. It's not the size of the thing, but the detail." - Brendan Gleeson "I learned very early on just how important it is to work with good people. It's important to have a good prop department, and a good director of photography. A lot of people don't understand how collaborative filmmaking is. Actors often get credit for making a film great, but filmmaking is a total collaboration and everyone should get the credit." - Scott Wilson

Happy Sunday, everyone! It's been a week of not quite enough sleep and a day of scheduling confusion, so bear with me. I'm listening to Rob Zombie to stay awake and get some work done. Wait, no. Song ended, and it just changed to Rammstein. It's good to hear them again. Anyway...
I'm going to do a shoot for a video production company! I also had some fun auditions and am getting ready for two more as we speak. Maybe this lack of sleep thing is working for me. I also am on Fiverr and TipGlo now, too. You know, because why not? Ok, I have an audition to get ready for. Tschuss! That was German for "See you later." Remember, I'm listening to Rammstein. "That's the beauty of what actors do, that you only have yourself as a resource. And so the trick is to find something in them that you connect to somewhere. And with every single one of my characters, I have to find something that I really understand and ultimately believe." -Julianne Moore It's been a busy week! Time and I came home a few days ago from visiting my parents and his parents in Florida (it was great to see them, and it was nice to thaw out for a while), I realized how truly terrible I am at shuffleboard (Mom and Dad didn't just win. They cleaned the floor with us), and I've been getting called for quite a few auditions since our return. Tim even had a video audition to do while we were there (thanks for the help in using your video editing program, Mom!)
I'm going to write an eBook. More on that down the line. I did a video audition for a short film on Friday. The role I auditioned to play was...you guessed it Auditions? Check. Spending time with family? Check. Lots of thinkgs going on? I already said family, didn't I? I'd carry on with general thoughts for a while, but no time for that this week!
I'd have a coffee if the caffeine didn't make me twitch... "Sometimes it takes courage and experience to allow yourself to actually go there, and it's the most liberating thing to let go." - Diane Kruger What an excellent week! I've had auditions, one being for a Shakespearian production (I got to do a Rosalind monologue from As You Like It. That was fun!), and I'm even getting ready to go to another audition as we speak.
You know the song, "Pompeii," by Bastille? It's stuck in my head right now. Yesterday it was "Never Gonna Stop" by Rob Zombie. Ok, and we're moving on now... People always comment on how I'm so positive, energetic, and nice. It's because I do yoga by myself every day and I don't eat processed foods. For yoga, on top of the fact that it's an excellent workout, it's also a way to meditate through movement. This makes it very stabilizing and uplifting. As for not eating processed foods, I completely gave up eating food-like products five years ago. Basically, if there's an ingredient in an item that I don't recognize as an actual food, I won't eat it (Asparagus? Sounds good. Maltodextrin? No thank you). Since I started this, I don't get sick anymore, and my energy levels are through the roof! To wrap it up, what it comes down to is that I am the way I am because I'm healthy, so I feel good. I'm also very weird, so that probably comes into play at some point, too. "Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. It's basically a license to proudly emote on a somewhat childish level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating." - Simon Pegg |
