I have another fun audition for tomorrow! It feels like the world is starting to slowly come back to life, at least on some level. Onward, and stay safe, everyone!
"I am where I am because I believe in all possibilities." - Whoopi Goldberg
I had a VERY fun audition this week! Added bonus was that I got to work out some of the frustrations of 2020 with a metal bar. Yup. Can't wait to see what comes next!
"We have to learn to adapt to people and changes. Change is good." - Jamie Clayton
I had another audition and am going to get new headshots today! This helps me feel as though it's a certain small sense of normalcy, if you will, but I'm throwing everything into creating a better normal.
"The story is relevant because we still stand on his shoulders. He started something - I would even say maybe he didn't even start it, it started before him. But he carried the torch. And he carried it alone for a period of time before other people could help him."
- Chadwick Boseman on Jackie Robinson
Hope everyone reading has had an excellent first week of 2021! The pilot I booked is on hold (thanks, COVID), but we will start shoots again when infection rates are more under control. Thank you to the team for putting the safety of everyone involved first!
Also have an awesome audition coming up. I'll of course let you know where that goes.
Until next week, stay safe!
"The bad boy: always more fun. It's funny. When you're in your early 20s, you go ahead and do everything. And it's very hard to judge yourself. It's like when you're in drama school, and you're playing a 60-year-old in Russian plays, and you get criticized, and you say, 'What the hell, I'm an 18-year-old trying to be a 60-year-old Russian?' But the bad boy, I had a knack for it from the start." - Ian McShane
Happy to end the chapter of 2020! It was quite a year for all of us, but you already know that. In addition to the death and destruction that came in with COVID-19 and the ugly inequality and divisiveness growing more and more, what I've missed the most is acting. It's my thing. It's what I do. Stop acting for 10+ months?!? My heart broke. Not being able to pursue your passion is disheartening. It has left me feeling lost.
Anyway, no more of that negative stuff, because I at least got to shoot a commercial last month, and I booked a TV pilot, so better days are ahead. I am certain they are ahead for all of us. THEY MUST BE. With all of the violent, hate-filled bile being spouted anywhere, there must be better things coming.
Wherever you are, I wish you health and happiness for 2021💝
